My current role has me managing a group of 38 employees across 4 shifts. Our operation is 24/7 including all holidays. The building that I help manage incinerates 300 dry tons of material per day. We have a large and complex air pollution control system to ensure our facility does not pollute the air we all count on. My previous experience came as a plant operator for 10 years. I started working at a facility that treated roughly 34 million gallons of wastewater per day. I was there for seven years with increased level of responsibility. The next 3 years I spent working in an incineration facility as the lead on the day shift. Here I learned valuable project management skills, preventative maintenance skills, supervising skills, and general interaction with a wide variety of personalities.
