In my time working as a CNA, I have been able to assist so many people in performing the most basic activities of daily living that their age/condition has hindered them from performing on their own. I find this work to be some of the most rewarding because I am able to help another human to do things that they would not be able to do on their own. I greatly focus on providing the residents I care for with independence and autonomy in their daily lives. Sometimes it is hard for someone in an institution such as a nursing home to remember that they are independent human beings capable of making their own decisions. While they may need assistance in deciding what they want to do, they are capable of living their life to the fullest. In my role as a CNA, I try to remind residents of everything they can still do and how truly independent they can be. In performing my job duties, I strive to assist residents to be the most independent individuals they can and to make their quality of life the greatest it can be.

While working as a welder at Western Ranch Supply, I commonly construct branding pots, branding irons, cattle weigh scales, branding tables, etc. I also repair various farm machinery such as livestock trailers, feed trucks, and pretty much anything else people need fixed or welded. I have electrical wiring experience and often wire lights/break controllers into the trailers we service. I also install helper air bag kits for ranch trucks as well as flatbed pickup boxes. Throughout performing the duties of my job, I often am faced with challenging situations that require me to utilize various skills such as problem solving, customer service, leadership, conflict resolution, active listening, interpersonal, etc. I have greatly enjoyed my time working at Western Ranch Supply, and I look forward to using the transferable skills I have learned there in my future medical practice.
