We are employed to use our experiences to teach and guide new Economics students. This includes both sitting in on lessons and helping students understand content, as well as planning and running drop in sessions in which we answer any specific questions about the course or university in general and otherwise run through content they may need a hand with..

• During my 6 week internship my duties included:
• Studying for and obtaining a qualification as a Quickbooks Pro Advisor
• Developing skills in excel to create databases and input data
• Using a combination of physical and digital data to balance the books and solve incomplete records
• Completing course on the open university, as well as researching accounting using alternate sources

• Duties included:
• Sticking labels onto petri dishes agar plates.
• Pipetting into petri dishes and agar plates.
• Pouring agar into petri dishes, before storing them in relevant incubators.
• Pouring broths into sample cups to test for salmonella and listeria.
• Throwing away the previous weeks samples and retaining the current ones.

• Duties included:
• Taking orders and answering queries from customers both over the phone and in person. This has developed my communication skills, patience, and taught me how to work work efficiently in a stressful environment.
• Preparing food in the kitchen, for example cutting vegetables, packing orders and using the deep fat fryer. This has given me a keen awareness of the kitchen as well as the skill of preparing foodstuffs.
• Cleaning the building (wiping windows, cleaning shelves, mopping floor, washing up etc.). This has enhanced my willingness to do any job required with initiative and proficiency.
