I have been in IT for nearly twenty five years near the Twin Cities of Minnesota. I started building databases and using VB, then learned Delphi, then Java, and have continued to learn. I've worked in start-ups, in global enterprises, and as an independent contractor. I've written two books on regular expressions, co-written two others on PHP and one on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.A few years ago I had the privilege of working with--then at--Amazon Web Services. And now I work at IBM.My passions--when it comes to technology--are cloud architecture, automation, and the developer experience. I love designing and developing highly scalable solutions using FaaS and managed cloud solutions. I really enjoy automating things and have been doing infrastructure and deployment automation since before the term DevOps was coined; trying to replace myself with an elegantly-written shell script for the last twenty years.
