I am currently pursuing my Ph.D in Counseling Psychology at Iowa State University. I find it very fulfilling to help others find their passions through meaningful work. My personal and professional experience has shown me career development cannot be drawn with a straight line. Often times there are curves, stops, and detours shaping our career paths. I consider it a privilege to walk beside others who need help determining where they are at in their career process, and where they want to go moving forward. I have accumulated hundreds of hours working 1-on-1 with individuals who are seeking career assistance or general counseling. After completing my Doctorate and gaining additional experience, I plan on opening up a private practice where I can continue to walk beside those who have sought assistance in the pursuit of their goals.I am currently conducting research on the impact that stereotypes of student-athletes have on what jobs people think are appropriate for them. Through this research I hope to raise awareness to the unique experiences that student-athletes face, as well as create a more welcoming environment across university campuses.
