After dedicating my early adult life to studying art, philosophy, and Contemporary American Anthropology, I switched gears and began teaching and working with autistic adults and children. I studied Behavioral Science and practiced in the field until I reached a point where I was philosophically unable to proceed. I have recently dedicated my time to raising my 3 children, Making art, and competing in amateur disc golf tournaments. If you’re still reading, thank you friend, (I now consider you one for your time and effort and curious nature for that matter), here is my current artist statement. I create work intuitively, similar to the Surrealists, and Abstract Expressionists, aiming to unlock hidden spaces and events that lie within the collective unconscious. I use a variety of media and methods to create my work, from found objects (manmade and natural), traditional painting and drawing (mostly on canvas), and digital painting/drawing, using a tablet and drawing stylus. My work rarely starts with an idea or mental image, but instead aims to present a dynamic image for which a collective idea or ideas can be formed through open discussion, a completely subjective experience.
