Ever since I was a kid I wanted to be in HR... C'mon now, I am not sure any kid dreams to be in HR - I actually thought I would be a Meteorologist or Conservation Agent, until Sam's Club career became a real fulfilling career opportunity for me. HR was certainly an unexpected career path that I am very grateful for today, and it is all because different leaders saw the potential I had to bring to the team. These leaders took a risk on a guy with little HR experience, but saw someone who had a big heart for people and who wanted to make a difference. Here are a few things to know about me:1. In it to win it - When you need someone to partner with to explore new ideas and figure things out - I am that competitive person that loves a good challenge. 2. I thrive on relationship building. I am always curious about what makes others' want to succeed, figure out how I can feed into that, and more importantly, what I can learn and take away from them and apply to my own development. 3. Storytelling is important to me - through stories, so many things come to life through memories that paint the bigger picture. Stories help me lead through the way I work when it comes to explaining the "why" and making it more relatable for others. 4. I am a dad of 3 and make the best team with my wife to run a marathon with these 3 crazies everyday. I would not have it any other way. 5. Why I love my job - Even though this was an "unexpected career path" for me, my job rocks because I get to invest, develop, and pour into people (our future leaders) and take a chance on them, just like someone did for me. Paying it forward wins and builds the best team every time!
