Fundamentally I create! Whether that is through design, photography, paint, pottery or podcast. An enthusiastic designer, with a passion for creative, high quality visual communication. I have what seems like a lifetime of professional experience, working both for agencies and in-house departments and now running NHD, my own design studio. Having gained experience producing work for B2B clients, retail environments and end user focused markets and have good all round organisational, communication and client-facing skills. Can take projects from initial briefing and brainstorming concepts, through to implementation across a wide range of media. An expert working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign helps provide the outlet to the creative work that I produce. I also am learning the 3D/animation software Cinema 4D and have HTML, CSS and WordPress knowledge so as to be able to translate creative concepts on and offline. Although we are in a 'digital age' the more traditional realms of marker visuals, scamping and sketching are definitely not overlooked as a medium of expressing myself or answering a brief. As a designer, artist and photographer, I try to look more creatively at everyday things to get inspiration that will relate to everyday people.Have a look at a selection of work on my online portfolios at:www.behance.net/nathan_hallamwww.the-dots.com/users/nathan-hallam-597170

Senior DesignerSpecsavers Dec 2018 - Feb 2019Guernsey, United KingdomWorking with the in-house department, the role was to be an integral part of the team designing and developing a new VI (visual identity) aiming to unite the various national markets, which include UK & ROI, the Nordic countries, Spain and Australia & New Zealand, into a single international brand message. This involved the initial design investigations as to how to implement the creative vision across a variety of media and formats and how successfully the new typefaces and proposed image styles would work with the new graphic elements to maximise customer engagementAs an integral part in the development, design and roll out of a new brand Visual Identity for this international brand, I helped take the creative vision of the in-house team and apply it to a range of advertising and marketing materials ranging from press, point of sale, outdoor displays - both digital and traditional print. Utilising current and proposed assets to build an adaptable and flexible series of rules to govern how all the assets will work together to provide a stable platform of templates, from which the comprehensive VI Guidelines could be produced. The design process also had to take into consideration that there was a need to allow a large part of the production process to be automated which imposed pretty heavy restrictions in terms of potential legibility issues. The final stage of the project was to help manage the design and delivery of artwork ready templates for each national market’s marketing needs - POS, outdoor media, digital spaces and hand outs, for each creative variation of the VI. -
