Quorum X Diagnostics is a research company that is creating an at-home COVID-19 antigen test. As an intern for this important project, I helped obtain FDA approval, assisted in obtaining international patents, advised the team on future directions based on research/data analysis, and led a team to optimize the AI recognition software for an app that interprets our test results.

Throughout undergraduate, I had experience shadowing and learning the practices and saw doctor-patient interactions within many specialties, such as pediatrics, internal medicine, cardiology, hematology-oncology, neurology, and more.

During the pandemic, switching to an online classroom presented challenges for teachers and students alike. As a teaching assistant for a biochemistry class, I worked to modify the class structure in order to better address these challenges. More group work was implemented into class time, I helped lead the classroom through case study analysis days, and I hosted weekly review sessions.

I conducted research projects in a cardiology lab and epidemiology lab. My project in the cardiology lab focused on understanding two subunits of Glycoprotein Ib-IX-V, a receptor complex on blood platelets, to determine how they contribute to the blood platelet clearance process. My project in the epidemiology lab focused on better understanding schistosomiasis, a disease that causes urinary and intestinal infections in humans.

Worked as a server at Taqueria Tsunami, where I enjoyed serving a variety of customers and taking care of day-to-day tasks and cleaning.
