Assist in immediate treatment of trauma patients entering the emergency room via ambulance, including performing EKG’s, drawing blood, treating wounds, and connecting patients to the vitals monitors. Perform miscellaneous tasks including patient transport, transporting samples to the lab, cleaning patient rooms, and various patient tests including blood sugar tests and orthostatic vital signs.

Individually participated in a 6-month mentorship with interventional radiologist Dr. David Kim to gain insight into the career of interventional radiology. I conducted detailed research into the nuances of minimally invasive procedures and had frequent one-on-one discussions with Dr. Kim about the day-to-day experiences of being an interventional radiologist. I also shadowed Dr. Kim and watched him perform a pulmonary AVM embolization procedure. From the knowledge I gained, I used the programs AutoCAD and Inventor to design an arm-like mechanism that would attach to an operating table and assist in wire organization during procedures that involve many wires, catheters, and tubes.
