In my 9 years with Nissan I have transformed the infrastructure landscape, kept ahead of business demands and removed a significant amount of technical debt while increasing infrastructure availability to 99.999% sustained over 5 consecutive years.Major achievements include • Seamless relocation of two on premise data centres to corporate hosting facilities which included a thorough vendor selection process, construction of detailed migration strategy and execution of multiple POCs to validate the design prior to execution.• Construction of active/active data centres achieving greater load distribution, increasing performance while reducing cost and maintaining a 100% DR coverage.• Delivery of a WAN transformation project which involved extensive tender and vendor selection process as well as managing supporting the vendor through the network design, construction and migration phases. The result was a saving of $4M over the contracted period.• Removal of legacy tape backup storage and combining open systems and mainframe backups into a single flash based storage system. This solution delivered significant cost saving as well as substantial improvements in backup and restore times.• Faultless execution of numerous upgrade and refresh cycles across security, network, storage and compute infrastructure.

At the time of joining Global Retail Brands they were heavily reliant on an outdated and outsourced technology platform and support team. My role was to build an internal IT department and bring all major aspects of information technology in house while designing and implementing a technology platform to support and promote growth of multiple retail chains. Over my seven years with Global Retail Brands I constructed and managed an efficient and effective IT department as well as infrastructure platforms for all three facets of the businesses (product sourcing, wholesale and retail). This technology transformation provided the platform for the business to achieve its goals and expand its retail footprint nationally internationally. Many of the visionary technology systems I designed, selected and implemented for Global Retail Brands are still the foundation for the evolved solutions in use by Global Retail Brands today, more than a decade after the initial implementations.Major achievements include• Construction of an IT team from the ground up and delivering on the business’ requirement to bring all core information technology functions back in house.• Creation of the technology foundation highlighted by the implementation of an ERP and Point Of Sale system driven by the need for greater visibility of inventory, ordering and sales data.• Leading a rapid response and technology evolution to absorb a 75 store retail chain into the existing technology platform due to an acquisition opportunity which presented with little time to prepare. • Construction of a WAN to support a 150 store retail chain which later seamlessly scaled up to support over 220 stores. -
