Senior Full time officer for the Vermont Army National Guard responsible for the administration and full time work force supporting a diverse force of combat arms, support, and TDA organizations. Senior staff integrator for the Army staff and lead trainer for staff operations, MDMP, design and future planning. Responsible for overseeing the implementation of the first career management program the VTNG has instituted in over 25 years.

Responsible for welfare, training and discipline of 4200 Soldiers across 6 states in the Army’s only Mountain brigade. Selected to participate in the Affiliated Unit Program under the 10th Mountain Division (one of 3 BDEs in the ARNG). Led the Brigade Task Force of over 5,000 Soldiers to significant success at the Joint Readiness Training Center (DATE rotation 19-07) and 10MD Division Warfighter Exercise greatly increasing overall readiness and training proficiency as the most ready and lethal IBCT in the ARNG inventory during 2019-2020. Prepared the BDE as a designated high ready unit for overseas contingency operations against a near peer competitor incorporating emerging doctrine and newly fielded equipment.

Responsible for a budget of over $60M in training and personnel funds. Managed training aides forecasting, marksmanship support and training strategy development. Served l as the national Chair of the G3 advisory council (PORTAC) advising the Director of the Army National Guard and G3 on collective training strategies and resource prioritization. Facilitated state level long range planning on future force structure and strategic capability requirements in concert with the National Guard Bureau and State of Vermont. Planned all National Guard support to civilian authorities to include flood, personnel recovery, and civil disturbance training and operations.

Senior AGR officer in the IBCT responsible for the full time support staff’s execution of the BDE CDR’s intent. Managed the BCT’s rotation through the Army’s readiness model to include conducting an XCTC rotation and developing a glide path for the ARNG’s first DATE CTC rotation. Led the conversion of the BCT to a new organizational design with the incorporation of new units and capabilities. Responsible for developing the BDE’s mountain capabilities and equipping strategy in concert with US Army Infantry School.

Responsible for the training of over 2,000 DOD and foreign military personnel in mountain warfare skills. Executive Agent for US Army Infantry School regarding development of mountain warfare doctrine, training and individual skills. Developed and implemented the Army’s first high angle mountain sniper course. Published in professional journal (Infantry Magazine May-August 2010). Coordinated across the DoD enterprise and NATO developing future mountain and cold weather focused DOTMILPF.
