My name is Nathan Marks, and I am a graduate student studying International Business and Management at the University of Manchester. Prior to my studies in Manchester, I attended Auburn University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management with a minor in Sustainability. I am originally from Huntsville, Alabama, USA.Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have been fascinated by the dynamic relationship between technology and transportation in the rapidly evolving business landscape. During my time at Auburn University, I secured internships in diverse business sectors, gaining valuable experience. My first internship was at The Broadway Group, a commercial real estate development company. During my tenure there, I contributed to general accounting tasks, documented building site operations, and facilitated the transportation of building fixtures. The summer preceding my senior year at Auburn University, I secured a production control internship at the HL Mando auto part manufacturing facility in Opelika, Alabama. This experience provided me with insights into the challenges and opportunities within the manufacturing industry, enabling me to develop effective strategies for real-time problem-solving.During my time at HL Mando, I successfully optimized the Kanban ordering system by eliminating duplicate and obsolete parts from automatic reordering. Additionally, I assessed inventory levels and utilized an in-house ERP system.Upon completing my master’s degree from the University of Manchester, my aspiration is to secure employment with a company in the United Kingdom that prioritizes sustainability. I am eager to contribute my skills and experiences to an organization where I can make a meaningful impact on operational improvements.
