Served as a research consultant for political, corporate, and non-profit clients nationwide, including clients in Arkansas and Washington, D.C., for one of the nation’s leading political research consulting firms, Reger Research, Inc., between August 2005 and January 2009, and again from October 2009 until November 2012. Conducted research for candidates in many of the top-contested political campaigns across the country and aided in the development of communications strategies for numerous campaigns at the state legislative, gubernatorial, U.S. Senate, and presidential levels. Served as in-house Research Director for Governor Mike Beebe’s 2006 election and 2010 re-election campaigns, which included the development of campaign strategy and overseeing the implementing of that strategy with the campaign communications operation. Responsible for vetting all aspects of campaign operations. Between 2008 and 2012, edited and signed-off on all press releases sent by the Democratic Party of Arkansas as Reger Research’s chief Arkansas contact. Beginning in Fall 2012, while attending law school, operated a sole-proprietorship research consulting business for numerous clients.

Conducted research that guided the communications strategy behind the passage of Governor Beebe’s health care initiative during the 2009 legislative session. Lead coordinator for strategic scheduling of public appearances by the Governor, including vetting of requests for appearances. Responsible for coordinating Arkansas Works, the Governor’s primary education and economic development initiative, which included planning and executing a statewide tour by the Governor for county-level Arkansas Works Summit meetings with local stakeholders, including public officials and secondary and higher-education administrators.

As a legislative aide in Senator Mark Pryor’s Washington, D.C. office, was responsible for assisting with policy initiatives and research in the areas of defense, government affairs, homeland security, communications, foreign affairs, education, and transportation. Served as an official designate to the Senate Armed Services Committee. Was also responsible for meeting with constituents and responding to inquiries regarding federal legislation and policy.

As a staff writer for one of Arkansas’s largest weekly newspapers during summer and winter breaks from college, responsibilities included news reporting, unsigned editorial column writing, and page layout design. June 2000 column appeared as an op-ed on the editorial page of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
