Responsible for development and maintenance for a variety of metering and metering infrastructure products (STM32, NXP LPC, and PIC based) and ancillary PC software (C# and Java based). Some examples:- Rewrote the firmware for an existing battery powered water meter product (8-bit PIC based) with a focus on reducing power consumption. Achieved an ~80% reduction in sleep mode current draw without any hardware changes.- Assisted in porting the LoRaWAN reference stack to Zenner's WM3 meter interface unit (STM32 based). Responsible for all LoRaWAN firmware development after initial release.- Developed a product (STM32 based) to allow technicians to update the firmware on an ultrasonic water meter cable in the field. Previously, the cable would have to be replaced and the old one had to be sent back to Zenner to be updated.- Developed the firmware for a test fixture (8-bit PIC based) to assist in evaluating RMA'd products. Wrote a Windows GUI program in C#/WinForms to automate operating the test fixture and upload test results to a database.

- Adapted an existing network monitoring codebase (Python & Bash based) to create a new cloud-based network monitoring appliance for customers using Amazon Web Services. Created marketing materials for the new AWS appliance and assisted the sales team with technical advice on sales calls.- Ported the network monitoring codebase from a Raspberry Pi 3, Debian 8 hardware platform to a Raspberry Pi 4, Debian 10 hardware platform.- Modified the code to support configuration files, allowing the same codebase to be shipped on a variety of different hardware platforms rather than requiring a separate branch for each platform.
