I am grateful to have over 10 years experience spanned across one of the most exciting times in Australian banking. Helping customers navigate through this changing landscape has been my strength and motivation. I have held front line and leadership positions at NAB in Business and Corporate banking and was privileged enough to receive a role with Judo Bank in July 2019. Getting in to Judo during its early stages has been so exciting and fast paced. The culture that had been instilled from the get go along with a group of fantastic leaders has taught me as much in the last year as I had learned in my previous 10 years of banking.My driving force will always be the empathy I have for my customers. This has been the precursor for the strong relationships and referral networks that I have built throughout my career. I feel a great sense of responsibility For my customers and the impact they have on the Australian economy. I am a custodian for the small business owner and a facilitator for the continued progress of the Australian economy via those business owners. Knowing this, is the most rewarding part of my job. The banker-client relationship will always be built on trust and that comes from experience, empathy and committing to becoming part of the customer’s business. I strive to start at the beginning and understand a customers financial and life goals. This then becomes the foundation for all future conversations rather than floating from one transaction to the next.In a time when the ‘wow’ factor has become an indicator of customer service we instead relied on getting the fundamentals right. To a customer, it is the boring things in banking that are so important- Do they know the progress of their request? Are they being provided with tailored insights that are relevant to their business? Have we done everything we could to meet their deadline? Have they paid a fair price for the service provided?When work is not keeping me busy, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am a golf tragic and it has been this way since I was 10. A very distant second would be a bit of fly fishing, or a good steak and red wine.
