The Veterans' Holiday Celebration is a one-day event that serves food, entertains, and appreciates over 4000 veterans and their families with 1000+ volunteers spanning 30 distinct teams.• Started volunteering around age of 8 and eventually became pivotal member of technical staff, as well as general technical consultant for other teams.• Trained under many project managers and team leads that ran the event to learn critical logistics, communication, and problem-solving skills.• Consulted with board of directors regarding collaborative software solutions to facilitate interteam communication, record keeping and planning.• Created proprietary software to automate previously manned/inefficient tasks such as registering guests as they arrive, generate all volunteer name badges on-demand and from roster spreadsheet, and a kiosk application to allow on-site photographers to upload/offload photos throughout the day to be shown on various screens/jumbo-trons throughout the site.• Performed on-site logistical and service-oriented tasks, as well as maintained digital equipment on the day of, and prior to, the event.
