Built and installed in-situ environmental sensors (Onset HOBO) for municipal clients. Air temperature sensors for an urban heat study were deployed on transects in the city of Frederick, while water temperature sensors were deployed with replicates in streams following DNR protocol. Both were revisited after large rain events to check-on, maintain, and download data. Curated large sets of environmental data, and processed using excel and the open-source program-R.

Conducted replicate experiments for assessing the optimal growing conditions for algal communities present in whole pond water samples for their use as biofuel. In conjunction with a sister lab, experiments were conducted weekly in a grow room using tubs of pondwater from the grow site, chicken manure as the nutrient source, and an inoculation of algae. Prepared samples daily with replicates that were analyzed for pH, ammonia, phosphates and nitrates. Subsamples were taken daily to determine total suspended solids. Data managed using google drive.
