Conducted legal research and drafted briefs and memoranda filed in the Appeals Court and Superior Court on a variety of topics including civil damages pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983, sovereign, absolute and qualified immunity, the Mass. Tort Claim Act, and redress of sealing and expungement. Compiled and analyzed relevant case law for interlocutory appeal argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on immunity and extradition.

Performed extensive legal research and drafted a motion filed with the Division of Administrative Law Appeals concerning statutory construction of willful violation of wage and hour laws and the assessment and enforcement of civil damages. Conducted comprehensive legislative history research with regard to reasonable attorney fees for a prevailing claimant. Drafted memoranda on constructive discharge, FLSA classification, and vicarious liability.

Served as a Project Manager in a multi-million dollar wage and hour defensive litigation suit. Participated in the development of a uniform corporate wage and hour training and in the resulting implementation of an electronic time management system for reporting non-exempt worked time. Provided human resource guidance for an average of 600 employees throughout PHS Finance and Patient Accounting. Major responsibilities included: assisting in the recruitment, candidate selection process, extending offers, and facilitating new hire transitions; counseling managers and employees on employee and labor relations issues; consulting legal and other functional departments as needed to investigate and manage employee relations issues; conducting specialized training sessions for managers and employees on HR policies and procedures; and negotiating employee corrective action or separation.

Participated in complainant interviews, factual investigation, and analyzed case files for compliance with federal anti-discrimination statutes. Researched applicable case law and EEOC agency interpretative guidance. Drafted enforcement recommendations and probable cause determination letters.

Served as the divisional human resource contact for Commercial Markets in the Southwest Region, an average of 350 employees. Advised and partnered with management on compensation-related practices including the grading of roles within defined salary structures and alignment with FLSA regulations, performance review processes, and incentive plan administration.

Participated in the Human Resource Development Program. Served as point of contact for all Commercial Market employees across the organization. Facilitated communication between case managers and local management for employee leaves of absence under FMLA, workers' compensation, and short- and long-term disability claims.

Entered and audited new hire on boarding information ensuring legal compliance with state and federal employment requirements. Coordinated new hire orientation across departmental and front office managers and delivered presentation on company policy, procedure, and expectations.

Managed campus-wide daily staffing and crisis intervention for emotionally and behaviorally troubled children living in residential care. Target staffing ratio to children was 1:3. Program provided for an average of 40-45 children.

Planned and implemented a consistent daily structure focused on developing social and life skills for children age three to thirteen living in residential care. Used Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), a talk-based crisis management strategy to de-escalate aggressive behaviors centered on building the child's own emotional self-regulation and growth.
