SSTI is an intensive 10-day residential summer institute at UCI designed to prepare historically underrepresented students in higher education for transfer to the UC system. The program offers the community college students a core academic transfer course for three units of academic UC transferable credit. Students accepted into the program are taught by instructional teams composed of UCI and Community College faculty, with a counselor and teaching assistants providing classroom support. During their 10 days living, eating, sleeping, and studying at the UCI campus, SSTI students are helped to focus on their educational goals by faculty, partnership staff, and student networks. The goal is to nourish a positive college going culture.

Responsible for assisting in the development of programming directed at creating a welcoming space for our QTPOC students that also touches various aspects of the Latinx diaspora. Responsibilities also include cultivating, planning and executing QTPOC specific programs and initiatives. Additionally responsible for outreach and collaboration with campus partners and affiliated students organizations on cultural QTPOC programs and initiatives.
