The Australian Business School was a CRICOS education provider located in Brisbane CBD offering a range of courses from the IT, Community Services and Business sectors. My time as Director of Studies at ABS provided great exposure to the higher end of the VET industry, particularly ASQA and compliance requirements.A brief of my key responsibilities in this role:- Coordinated the ABS team post-audit to rectify changes and make improvements. - Worked with independent consultants and outside stakeholders to address non-compliances and areas for improvement at ABS. - Managed the training and administration during day to day operations of the college- Organised completion and ran final compliance checks for graduating students at ABS- Worked with the ABS nursing team and outside stakeholders to develop and prepare for launch of the ABS School of NursingResource and compliance document development was also a large part of therole; having developed the VET trainer matrix and PD plan templates presently in use and currently re-developing the assessment materials for the BSB courses.

- Team of three carrying out resource development for Certificate 3 and 4 in Fitness following 2015 updates.- Coordinated and conducted excursions for outdoor rec. students including kayaking, rockclimbing, surfing and bushwalking.- Trained and assessed all domestic students under the C3G government funded programFacilitating the weekly Cert 3 and 4 of Fitness and Cert 3 Sport and Recreation for the Eagle Academy cohorts:- Delivery, marking and assessment of all units of Fitness and Sport and Recreation courses- Assisting in creating, modifying and improving current learning and assessment materials as well as participating in regular Validation sessions.- Coordinating between students to maintain adequate standards of course completion for study visas.Being a CRICOS provider, Eagle Academy offered me the new challenge of teaching international students, many of which spoke English as a second or even third language. With this came a whole new perspective on training delivery and facilitation; I'm grateful of this and the relationships I was able to create with these students in the middle of their journey in Australia.

Facilitating the weekend practical sessions for the AIPT's Complete PT Fast Track course.Taking on the role of a PT Mentor, Trainer and Assessor for students undertaking the course with AIPT is an opportunity to see the students achieve the real practical, hands on knowledge the VET sector promises.AIPT is a fantastic RTO delivering robust courses and the Complete PT Fast Track comes highly recommended from me. I always see to it that the students coming through my campus at Wynnum are completely ready to work; backed with a tonne of hands on work in a gym environment and expert advice from someone currently working in the industry.

Arthur Gorrie Remand Centre

Providing training delivery, learning support and assessment of the Certificate III in Fitness course for Indigenous individuals.This role has given me insight and a whole new level of work satisfaction as I can watch my education and knowledge pass on to Indigenous prisoners at the Remand Centre. While the role provides new and previously unseen challenges this only helps me keep my teaching and training style fresh and sometimes unusual to get the learns across.Helping these young men achieve a certification they can use in the real world on their release is something I couldn't be happier to be a part of.

- In a team of two, facilitated 6 week inductions to new media sales staff induction groups.- Initiated, developed and delivered an APN knowledge hub/ intranet for Hamilton contact centre staff.- Developed and delivered staff upskilling programs including High Performance Sales, DISC profiles and objection handling- Scheduled and hosted Jam sessions with sales teams for upcoming newspaper features- Developed a skills taxonomy of the media sales consultant’s role to inform future recruitment and training needs analyses.- Team of two to re-develop and streamline the Hamilton contact centre’s Induction program. Reducing training room time by over a week.
