Cofounded a digital health company focused on mobile COVID assurance testing to help businesses, schools, and cultural organizations safely reopen and stay open.Made many, many (new) mistakes. Focused on not repeating them.Oversaw all engineering efforts, including the design and implementation of our own secure mobile-lab-oriented data platform, data engineering required to automatically report thousands of test results daily to state Departments of Health, and web-integrated booking systems.Grew company to 120 employees in four months with $2.2M in total revenues and managed costs and cash flow to enable continued rapid growth. Recruited, hired, trained, mentored, and developed teams in Engineering, Clinical Operations, Support Operations, and Accounting & Finance.Supervised the design, implementation, and evolution of all systems in above departments. Established and monitored KPI's to drive process improvement, growth, and profitability. Developed and mentored management staff for Clinical and Support Operations to run dozens of weekly testing protocols, each supporting 10-1,000 patients.Collaborated with partners on strategic development, planning, and execution.Moved fast. Failed. Tried again. Had fun.

Rolled up my sleeves with two business partners and built a multimedia recruitment platform for physicians. Made many, many mistakes along the way and focused on repeating as few as possible. Wore several hats. Some highlights:- Hired, trained, mentored, and developed a technical team of application engineers, front end developers, IT admins, data engineers, and data scientists- Supervised the design and implementation of the platform, including the web applications (.NET), an in-house marketing automation engine that sends over a million messages/month, data pipelines and analytics (Python/MySQL), and internal fulfillment software- Designed and constructed systems infrastructure and replaced it once outgrown, in some cases several times. Some examples: migration from Quickbooks to Quickbooks Online; migration from VB6 to .NET to .NET Core; replacement of original Access db with a MySQL cluster; port from on premise servers to offsite virtual servers to AWS; implementation of a Continuous Integration system for on-demand builds and automated regression testing; migration from SourceSafe to Subversion to Github.- Developed strategy with partners, evolving over time as we found product/market fit, then rolled out one media channel after another to provide a unique multichannel solution for our customers in the healthcare market- Implemented Agile ongoing sprint cycles for product development that involved collaboration between members of Engineering, Operations, and Marketing- Worked in all areas of the business, including Marketing, Sales, HR, Operations, and Accounting and Finance. Did the hands-on work in each department and documented the role, responsibilities, and training. Then hired and trained staff to build out a team to run that area, and established KPIs to run the team.
