NRC78 is a locally run clothing company that was founded by local Santa Monica artist, Nathan Charles. NRC78 is born from the West Los Angeles and surrounding areas underground surf & skate culture. Nathan’s formative years were spent sharpening his craft and style by spending hours, days, weeks and years soaking in the local knowledge and tradition from his mentors at his favorite spots. In downtime he was instructing his younger peers on everything that was passed down to him, skating, art and building. Influence and inspiration is taken from the Venice/Santa Monica skate culture that preceded him while adding his own twist and passionate stamp to it and broadening the base market to make something that will appeal to all demographics, but still remaining true to the roots of the Pacific Ocean Park/Dogtown culture and it's edgy artistic quality that this region is know for worldwide. To this day Nathan is continuing these traditions for a whole new generation on so many levels, weather it be through NRC78’s ever expanding clothing line, the 30 years of architecture that will leave an indelible stamp with the history of Santa Monica for generations to come, or the continued support for few small mom n' pop business's left in the new chapter of Santa Monica and it's continuous evolving landscape.
