Field Team Lead, Butte Priority Soils Operational Unit
CurrentAs Field Team Lead on the largest Superfund Site in the country, I:• Help a team of field scientists make sure we know all the data we need, that it's correctly collected, processed appropriately, and then distributed to the right people. • Make sure that the team has the right tools and training and that compliance, regulations, or other requirements are handled so they can focus on performing high quality science. • Am also responsible for day-to-day office and team management,• Help other members of my team develop their skills and experiences.I spend most of my day doing these things:• Organizing, scheduling, and otherwise coordinating field sampling• Reviewing the collected data and any reports we write. • Handling project level administrative tasks and talking to other departments, external agencies, and stakeholders in other companies that we work with.I do less of these things, but they aren’t uncommon:• Fieldwork & lab work, with a focus on groundwater and surface water sampling• Writing automation scripts for data management and processing using Python and Power Automate• Working with the rest of my team to wrangle archaic processes
