When I was 18, I rode in a car with my instructor and classmate to Kentucky. Not very eventful, but I was heading for a national SkillsUSA competition for robotics. While I was heading there, I thought constantly about how I even managed to get to that point. I was just a guy from small-town Oklahoma, who never touched a robot until that year. However, I love knowing how things work. So I kept playing with the robot until I knew. I kept learning, it's who I am. Once I find something new, I'll practice it until I'm good at it. Now, I use that curiosity to work as a head cashier at Ace Hardware. Learning new equipment and techniques from my coworkers.   I lead the training and development of a six-person team of cashiers. I coach them in techniques to better capture memberships and rewards of business-to-business and regular customers. While also teaching interpersonal skills to provide better support and experiences to all of our customers. I also act as an assistant to each manager. I provide assistance in the office and the work floor, helping to remove some of the workloads on the team and promote higher customer satisfaction.
