Confidently networking with UWR sponsors, potential sponsors for the University Race Team and new/potential students to come and study at the University.

The role of Front Vehicle Technician has given me the knowledge of maintaining the front of the UWR Praga. This role ensured that spanner checks had been done over the car and looked out for wear on pads and discs. I also have had to monitor the car for cracks or defects that would have to be changed before the car goes out for each session. Directing the car in and out of pitlane is one of the many jobs I've had to do during my role and head front race technician, making sure the car stops in the right pit box and is released safely. I've had the opportunity to lead and teach the new students in the team and give them the knowledge they need to do the best job in the team.

In this role, I gained experience assisting in making sure the right amount of fuel was in the car for each session, as well as, making sure the right tyre and pressures were in each tyre for the sessions over the race weekends. After each race, defuelling took place to make sure the fuel calculations were accurate. I also measured each set of tyres to understand how much wear we had for each tyre over the weekend.

The experience I gained led me to be able to learn and develop skills in AutoCAD and drawing floor plans. I learnt this through designing different rooms for clients including a Barbershop. Working in this team allowed me to mature my social skills and be able to work and lead group discussions and plans.
