Trailers full of packages, from around the country, come to Portland where they need to be unloaded and sent out to specific recipients. Likewise, Packages that need to be sent from Portland to all sorts of places around the country, need to be loaded into trailers and sent out. I am one of the guys who picks them up and moves them in and out of the trailers. Its hard work.

Fred prunes and cuts down trees. I had the pleasure of helping him do it. Aside from maintaining chainsaws and throwing wood into the chipper, my main task was to safely lower branches in a way that they didn't cause damage to people, property, pets or to Fred up in the tree. When we cut trees down, I was the guy pulling it down. Fred liked having a guy on the ground who knew how to estimate the height of a tree and I got to learn how to use a chainsaw. It was awesome!
