I lead the Quantitative Systems and Inventory department within Weyerhaeuser Advanced Forestry Systems. Our department is comprised of eleven scientists focused on programming, forest biometry, modeling and operations research. We are responsible for the design, development, deployment and support for a LiDAR based forest inventory, carbon offset projects, acquisition and disposition due diligence, growth and yield models, harvest scheduling systems and decision support tools in the US Pacific Northwest, South and Northeast.

Completed several research projects aimed at linking forest growth and wood properties models. In addition to this work, I explored applications of new technologies in partnership with collaborators in France, Norway, and the United Kingdom. A highlight was collaborating with CIRAD (a French agricultural research and cooperation organization) to integrate the ORGANON forest growth and yield model into the CAPSIS modeling platform (https://www.capsis.cirad.fr/capsis/help_en/organon).

Performed forest research to support extension-forestry initiatives and forest research programs. Activities ranged from measuring downed wood and standing trees, lab work, managing field crews, basic scientific writing and analysis. A highlight of this role was evaluation of downed wood after wood energy harvesting across Skåne, Sweden in 2011.
