Nathan worked with Fulfillment Center (FC) Directors and Facility Managers to identify labor and supply expense reduction opportunities in the seven Central Region FC’s. He identified and actualized $500k in labor savings though process improvement projects in the region and another $200k in labor savings on “Best in Class” benchmarking projects. He earned Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification becoming well versed in the DMAIC project process. He also created and updated operating SOP’s for many job functions to represent improved processes and worked in tandem with the Global Design Group to implement improved FC layouts and new technology.

By leveraging his past experience with engineered labor standards and LMS software, Nathan successfully audited multiple foodservice DC sites finding potential labor savings as high as 20%. He also then implemented new labor standards at multiple foodservice distribution centers across the United States to achieve these savings. This involved the successful creation and implementation of Engineered Labor Standards for functions involving Case Selection, Forklift Replenishment, and Forklift Put-aways.

Nathan served as the Senior Industrial Engineer at Lowe’s Indiana Regional Distribution Center, where he was member of the DC Senior Leadership Team and responsible for organizing and managing an engineering department of six employees. In this role, he was the facilitator of projects and priorities between the corporate engineering and the local DC operations teams. On top of that, Nathan was the project manager on numerous local cross-functional process improvement projects aimed at labor cost reduction. Nathan was also responsible for continuously maintaining and reevaluating local labor standards to adapt accurately to process improvement changes.
