My work is driven by a belief in the transformative power of education, arts and access to quality information. Plus the cognitive skills and good mental health that are needed to make the most of these things.A natural curiosity in people led me to a degree in psychology. After working as a therapist in clinical and forensic mental health I realised that prevention of problems is better than cure and public systems for promoting wellbeing are poor. To change this requires a positive focus on education, and understanding across society. Having completed a masters in social research I went on an adventure, moving to China & Japan for 3 years, where I learned to teach and develop educational methods. Upon my return I lectured in psychology and research methods at Coventry University, before moving to London to work as a policy analyst for local councils, government depratments and the charity sector.I became a freelance researcher and designer, which gave me the time and space to develop my own skills and to work towards turning my ideas into reality.
