I am a Research Associate Professor at the Roux Institute, Northeastern University in Portland ME where I am working in a team developing a research program at the intersection of materials, the circular economy, advanced manufacturing and applied AI with applications in a range of industries. Current projects include: * Developing AI algorithms to characterize fouling and make automated membrane cleaning decisions in reverse osmosis systems for seawater desalination.* Identifying potential build problems that can cause build or part failure in EBM additively manufactured titanium parts.* Combining direct energy deposition (DED) and laser sintering to make large parts with fine details.* Measuring wake steering effectiveness on wind plants using SCADA data.In addition, I provide consulting engineering services to businesses in the renewable energy industry including wind plant optimization and wind turbine blade testing domains.I am a multi-talented engineer with experience commissioning large-scale structural testing facilities, instrumenting wind turbines, developing and refining sensor systems for load measurements, managing projects, leading software and algorithm development teams, designing custom test equipment, and mentoring engineers and technicians.
