The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) provides research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in developing countries. Together with our partners, we generate needed evidence for country- and region-led policies that contribute to poverty reduction and help ensure that all people have access to safe, sufficient, nutritious, and sustainably produced food.As a data science consultant, I use Rstudio to conduct descriptive analysis in support of IFPRI research. My responsibilities include:- Cleaning and processing large datasets.- Producing summary statistics for analysis.- Producing data visualizations.My efforts result in increased efficiency and project streamlining to produce research results faster.

Roots Africa works to build sustainability and economic development in rural communities in Africa by investing in Changemakers. Changemakers create a project to bring value and change to their community with a focus on Entrepreneurship, Agriculture and Marketing.As a Pod Mentor, I coach a small team of Changemakers on topics such as marketing, budgeting, operations, and team development.

One Montgomery Green is a non-profit dedicated to community based education and outreach on issues like conservation and climate change. As an intern for OMG I contribute research, writing and oral presentation skills to contribute to OMG's 'Climate Resilience Project'. The project seeks to collaborate with community stakeholders to develop a climate action plan for and by the communities that are most vulnerable to climate change.

The Harry R. Hughes Center for Agro-Ecology, Inc. (Hughes Center) and the Agriculture LawEducation Initiative (ALEI) created the Russell Brinsfield Agro-Ecology Summer Internship program to celebrate and continue the legacy of Russel Brinsfield, a leader in agricultural innovation and policy.Interns work on a number of complex natural resource issues, includingnutrient management for the Chesapeake Bay, forestry, and local food production. During the course of the internship, Interns meet diverse stakeholders and engage in the complex interaction between the agricultural and the environmental conservation and policy communities. Interns work with legislators and staff at state agencies as we work to resolve challenges.The internship is funded by organizations seeking to build leaders who are able to appreciate all sides of complex issues and develop solutions that consider the needs of industry, environment, economic, and policymakers.Interns:● Participate in the multidisciplinary activities of the Hughes Center● Attend regional leadership meetings for agriculture and natural resources● Have the opportunity to learn from and support researchers at the University ofMaryland’s Wye Research Farm● Support ALEI’s staff in the creation and administration of legal educationresources and programs● Support Hughes Center and ALEI staff in developing proposals for future projects
