Lead Producer
Hempstead, New York, United States
For three-time Marconi Radio Award-Winning Non-Commercial Radio Station 88.7 FM Radio Hofstra University, I hold a lead producing position that entails speaking live over the air, engineering a broadcast, and arranging content, some of which is delegated to coworkers and interviewees. I also am able to air prerecorded material that I create and prepare: this includes sound from videos, webcasts, and more that I gain permission to use, interviews that I conduct with my own questions to be edited on Adobe Audition and aired live, and cut-ins for our news segment, Newsline, such as traffic information, weather forecasts, business reports, and entertainment reports. When I am not on campus and without access to a studio, I, along with my fellow staff, use Zoom to record from our respective locations in the same format as in studio.I have been a part of WRHU (our call letters) for one and a half years thus far, creating over 20 extended packages and 20 cut-ins to be used not only on air, but on social media as well. One package included questions I submitted to Johns Hopkins University to be answered by fellow graduates who are a part of President Joe Biden's Advisory Board for handling the COVID-19 pandemic. Another one included asking questions with a fellow colleague to a Northwell Health internist. One cut-in that I had the pleasure of doing included an interview with Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin about Nor'Easters and how to deal with them on Long Island.Over the course of my first semester at Hofstra University, I was proudly able to assist in helping WRHU win 2021's World Radio Day Award, presented by the Academy of Radio Arts and Sciences of America and established by UNESCO (United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) for our hard work to maintain programming during the COVID-19 pandemic.
