Led by Dr. Jill Grant of Dalhousie University School of Planning, the ongoing research project, titled Coordinating Land Use Planning in the Context of Multiple Plans, is helping to uncover how communities across Canada cope with increasingly complex policy environments as the number of planning documents to be coordinated increases.During the course of my work as a research assistant at Dalhousie, I have designed and administered a web-based survey that has collected responses from over seven hundred planning practitioners across Canada. I have performed interviews with several dozen planners in Halifax and St. John’s. I presented research findings at the CIP/API annual conference in Fredericton, and will present again in February at the CAPS conference in Winnipeg.
