With a group of other five graduate students, conducted field work in Buenos Aires, along the Matanza-Riachuelo River, the most contaminated river basin in Argentina. Of particular concern were the polluting industries along the river and its impact on Argentina’s largest concentration of urban poor.The project explored urban development and planning through the lens of gender and urban infrastructure, social responsibility and the private sector, and children and infrastructure, aiming to provide a broader understanding of the connection between policy, planning and lived experiences in complex urban polluted spaces.
