In April 2014, PixelFade began with a Kickstarter for a visual novel project called "Kendo Crush"​. Design changes turned that project into what is now known as ACE Academy​. I worked with a small team to build the game, from the ground up, on the Ren'Py engine. I personally handcrafted each scene with sprite expression changes, audio queues, and other visual effects. I also designed and scripted the mechanics used in the combat sequences. My experience and presence within the genre's fan communities helped contribute to the early marketing of the project and ultimately the game's 95% Positive Review Score at the time of this writing.
