Working at the Library of Alexandria (BA) for more than 21 years provided me with multidisciplinary professional experiences in diverse fields. I have successfully managed programs, implemented a variety of conferences, functions and activities, assisted and lead teams, as well as built strategies, networks and raised necessary funding resources for implementation of planned projects, conferences, training workshops, high-level meetings, amongst other programs and activities, whilst dealing with national, regional and international partners and contexts. Throughout my journey at the Library of Alexandria, I have acquired a myriad of professional skills. Those including communication and interpersonal skills; time management skills; the ability to multitask; exquisite writing skills in English and Arabic languages; planning, developing and implementing events and functions; budgeting and proposal writing, analytical and problem-solving skills; resource development for CSR, humanitarian & cultural activities; building capacities of volunteers and directing their efforts towards institutional support; working in media and communications affairs; communicate with ease on social media platforms; using Microsoft office Suite and operational systems/software with proficiency.I am currently the Director of the Women Studies Center at the Library of Alexandria. My work mainly focuses on designing and implementing, programs and activities, developing resources and establishing partnerships especially in the field of women and gender issues thus fulfilling the objective of the Women Studies Center to being an active promoter for change on the local, regional and international levels. My day-to-day work entails managing, planning, developing and implementing the various programs and activities; Setting and managing budgets in accordance with the BA’s financial procedures; Networking, developing, maintaining and strengthening relationships as well as negotiating and liaising across a broad range of stakeholders. I am also the manager of the Arab Network for Women in Science and Technology project, where I oversee the implementation of all its activities, including issuing Hypatia, which is a quarterly magazine featuring distinguished Arab women and relevant initiatives in the fields of science and technology.
