Specific projects include performing precision measurements of nonlinear phenomena and dissipation mechanisms in resonant sensors as well as implementing and characterizing a novel cryogenic readout system for encapsulated single-crystal silicon resonators with record-high quality factors. Additional work has included the design and operation of systems for biological assays such as nucleic acid extraction for DNA arrays on silicon and fluidics for an aptamer-based electrochemical assay.
