Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always been interested how things work (and why they break).I’ve taken that curiosity along into my working life and it’s stood me in good stead.I set up my own heating and refrigeration business at just 22 and have decades of hands-on industry experience to bring to every new project.While meeting with a major restaurant chain a few years ago, it was noted that excessive heat from their chargrills was cracking tiles and causing a number of problems within the kitchens. I just HAPPENED to have been working on a prototype product that would not only solve the problem, but recoup the heat and use it to generate hot water.I partnered with some of the best scientific minds in the business to make sure this technology could achieve all it promised.The result? There is now a DexTherm in every Nando’s in the UK.Dext has since developed an exciting new ‘heat harvester’ called the DexThermic that sits in the restaurant’s extract air system and captures the energy lost in cooking and heating the space, in order to use it again for heating and hot water.
