I am responsible for the project planning, the management of the project team, public relations and the inherent financial aspects of projects within our department of Road Construction Consultancy & Asset Management. As a project manager, I'm also responsible for the development of our AI data-driven maintenance and inspection platforms INSPECH and Wegenwijs, of which the latter was created based on my own idea. Those platforms use HD imagery and mobile phone sound recordings to automatically detect road defects and deterioration, which is great objective input for predictive maintenance.

Since 2016, my main responsibilities included consultancy and advice on the state of the client’s assets as well as insights on the options to extend the lifetime of their roads. For a rigorous assessment of the customer’s roads state, several methodologies are applied: visualization of the state of the road, measurement of the bearing capacity using a falling weight deflectometer (FWD), gathering data from cores obtained from the pavement as well as ground penetrating radar (GPR) in order to determine the construction thickness. With this information I am able to present the client a supported life-cycle costs analysis for their particular problem. Furthermore, I help various tender teams in Strukton to improve the value of their idea's by optimizing the structural designs as given by the client.Alternatively, I advise the tender teams with improved designs made possible due to the Strukton specials.
