During my time at DDL I completed a 4 year modern apprenticeship as a patternmaker. DDL are the manufactures of positive displacement reciprocating piston pumps for the oil and gas, petrochemical, steel manufacturing and water works industries. My role as a patternmaker was to supply fine tolerance wooden models of pump components to be cast using predominantly green sand casting techniques.
