I also provided cross-support for the Global Facility for Disaster Risk Reduction (GFDRR) at the World Bank, a global partnership that helps low and middle-income countries better understand and reduce their vulnerabilities to natural hazards and climate change.Some specific activities I worked on:• Providing technical assistance on five Damage and Needs Assessments (DNAs) in fragile and conflict-affected countries (FCV) in the MENA region including Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. Utilized innovative mixed-methodology including satellite imagery analysis, social media analytics.o Lead focal point, coordinating team of 75+ specialists o Iraq DNA resulted in $30 billion in pledges by donorso DNAs fed into high profile emergency grants issued by WBG in Iraq and Yemen worth over $150 milliono Supported study of Economic and Social Analysis of Refugee Returns in Syria• Producing recovery and reconstruction strategy for Mosul• Drafted and won grant proposals totaling $750,000 in funding• Developing urban resilience masterplans in Lebanon and Morocco, trainings for high-level government officials and supporting disaster risk management practices across MENA• Designed sessions, organized logistics, and served as technical focal point for MENA region’s first conference on urban resilience • Creating original content including key messaging, memorandums, annual reports, presentations, and talking points for World Bank senior management • Coordinated development of multi-sectoral post-disaster recovery guidance notes for government officials, team leads, and local authorities
