This role tackled the complete implementation of a press campaign from the ground up. Creating the foundations of scouting and encouraging press involvement with the festival to the complete organisation and running of a press launch at the Scotsman Hotel, all within a tight deadline. My day-to-day duties involved the writing and co-ordinating of press releases throughout Scotland, handling of image and asset requests and the management of coverage and contact databases for the festival… Show more This role tackled the complete implementation of a press campaign from the ground up. Creating the foundations of scouting and encouraging press involvement with the festival to the complete organisation and running of a press launch at the Scotsman Hotel, all within a tight deadline. My day-to-day duties involved the writing and co-ordinating of press releases throughout Scotland, handling of image and asset requests and the management of coverage and contact databases for the festival sponsors and the future of the festival. I met all these challenges, often spontaneous, to achieve the festivals most successful year of press coverage. This varied from trade and national press features to radio spots in a range of long and short lead publications across the country. For the Edinburgh Fringe Festival I was able to work hands-on in the comedy industry which combined online information and exposure monitoring, building reports for clients as well as liaising and helping monitor and run press events and interviews with our clients. This was a hectic month that gave me experience of the stresses that come with working within a festival, and allowed me to adapt my skills to work in a high pressured and spontaneous environment. This was a hectic month that gave me experience of the stresses that come with working within a festival, and allowed me to adapt my skills to work in a high pressured and spontaneous environment. Our success was shown as one of our clients was nominated for the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award, which served to validate our hard work during the festival. My role has left me with a desire to explore PR work further, as well as engaging with festival circuits more. Show less

Scouted and secured filming permissions for this French production company on the second season of the documentary: Legendes de France et D’ailleurs. I independently managed a strict budget through the negotiation of shooting permits, sourcing interviewees as well as managing the team’s travel and accommodation in a variety of locations from Edinburgh to Skye. I was a point of contact in Scotland, and I formed strong contacts within the Scottish film sector. The completed documentary was shown on the Voyage channel and exhibited at Connaissance Du Monde to over one million attendees. Show less
