• Clinical Professor of Health Services Research at the Robbins Institute for Health Policy & Leadership, Hankhamer School of Business at Baylor University.• Serving as Academic Adviser to the PhD Program in Health Services Research.Currently developing the curriculum including creating new courses to provide rigorous, multi-disciplinary training for doctoral students who will lead the next generation of health services researchers. Graduates will be prepared to conduct health and health care-related research in academic settings and industry settings such as health care delivery systems, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, and policy making organizations. Also teaching in the MBA in Health Care Administration programs offered by the Robbins Institute, with focus on accountable care and population health.

• Leading Quantitative Sciences including Biostatistics and Advanced Analytics & Health Economics (AAHE) groups.• Biostatistics group provides support for for experimental and quasi-experimental research designs, data collection and management, analysis and evaluation, and education throughout the Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) (North).AAHE provides research and operational support to areas requiring cost information related to cost efficiency and effectiveness throughout the BSWH. Also, conducting evaluations of the impact of interventions on clinical and financial/economic outcomes; while conducting federally and privately funded health services research. Specific interests in diffusion of innovations including technology (such as health information technology), time-driven activity based costing, patient-centered medical homes, and other behavioral-based interventions (such as adoption and implementation of standardized, evidence-based care).

Worked to provide health care quality training, consulting services, and products based on best practices. Focused on aiding domestic and international health care organizations expedite quality journey, specifically in areas of process improvement and patient safety based on best practices. Initiated and built health care quality consulting practice in 2011. • Led STEEEP® Academy six sigma/LEAN training in quality improvement for internal audiences including multi-state health care system quality improvement training including capstone projects. • Helped lead international marketing efforts to provide quality improvement tools in China, while co-editing an authoritative resource on STEEEP® approaches to quality and safety improvement.

Directed resources and people for biostatistics, epidemiology, programming, health services researchers, and medical writing to support physician clinical scholar research, quality improvement, patient safety, and patient centeredness. Oversaw $8,700,000 funding for research by IHCRI during tenure. Led resources for and contribute to creation of health services research grants for submission to AHRQ and private foundations in areas of health information technology, patient safety, and chronic disease management using disparate data sources including ambulatory electronic health record. Conduct cost and cost-effectiveness and outcomes analysis for quality and clinical care initiatives.• Named co-chair of BHCS value model realization to determine impact of health information technology, i.e., inpatient and ambulatory health care record, laboratory information system, and radiology information system on clinical processes, clinical outcomes, and financial measures• Served as liaison between IHCRI and RTI, International for DEcIDE and ACTION networks, while conducting research health information technology and evaluation of costs and clinical outcomes• Led Baylorhealth.edu website as external representation of health care professional activities that presented research, education, quality, professional recruitment, and community outreach.

Oversaw seven-month project development of management reporting system for Foundation Health Corporation and CHAMPUS Reform Initiative for Northern California. Developed reporting needs, data extraction protocols, report formats, transfer of information, and preliminary reporting using both VAX mainframe and PC in conjunction with Statistical Analysis System (SAS) programming. Conducted market research/statistical analyses using factor analysis, categorical data analysis, and discriminant analysis to segment customer usage with Baker and Company for Southwestern Bell Telephone, Cincinnati Bell Telephone, and major subsidiary of General Motors.

Directed three SAS statistical/database/application developer programmers. Maintained status as SAS Quality Partner, working with SAS Institute as approved programming vendor. Served as consultant to School Reform Commission, School District of Philadelphia to develop new accountability and assessment program. Consulted on accountability review council. Developed actuarial/statistical models to forecast and simulate probabilities of loan failures for The Associates, using different statistical distributions using SAS/ETS package. Developed decision tree methodology for Ignite Sales, banking/internet company, to perform segmentation to predict customer purchasing behavior. Developed utility demand usage models for ARKLA Gas Co. to determine proposed rates charged to residential and commercial gas customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

Analyzed health care claims data to model utilization and costs for AFDC recipients, including special policy studies of usual source of care and hospital readmissions. Participated in major analysis of AFDC recipient claims with Health Data Institute, Wellesley, Massachusetts. Forecasted trends in health care utilization and costs in Texas Medicaid Program. Oversaw EDS health care benefits utilization study with Health Data Institute, Inc.

While working in the Division of Health Examination Statistics (HES), conducted national study of social determinants of health and illness behavior from NHANES and NHIS. Led study of access to health services among U.S. adults, including vision care. Administered study of preventive services use in US. Chaired national study of socio-demographic correlates of unmet vision care needs. Analyzed national survey of risk factors associated with chronic metabolic conditions in U.S. While working in the Division of Analysis, constructed index of medical under-serviced after analyzing national survey of social determinants of health and , illness behavior. Conducted study of determinants of infant mortality in U.S. and North Carolina.
