I served as an aviation anti-submarine warfare operator / aircrewman onboard U.S. Navy P-3 Orion aircraft. I flew as part of a 14 man flight crew conducting anti-submarine warfare operations based all over the world. This involved the detection, tracking, and prosecuting of submarines of varying class / type (nuclear and non-nuclear) and nationalities (foreign flagged vessels). We were also tasked and flew hundreds of maritime search and rescue missions; Coordinated operations with other U.S. Navy surface, subsurface, and aviation platforms, as well as other nation's naval and aviation assets.These were without a doubt some of my more memorable, exciting, adventuresome, and most world travelled 12 years of my 27 year military career. The places I've visited and seen... The friendships I've been so very fortunate to have made are still as strong and tight-knit today as they were 40+ years ago.
