I was a Partner with McKinsey & Company leading large-scale growth, performance improvement and environmental sustainability projects, across a number of industries and sectors. This includes serving major US-based and international banking, insurance, healthcare and manufacturing clients. With more than 30 years of business transformation experience, I enjoy partnering with CEOs and leadership teams to identify and break down the barriers holding them back from from achieving and maintaining success. This has involved breaking down organizational ‘tower vision’ (silos) and improving collaboration, reinventing key business processes, reducing complexity and dramatically improving productivity. Prior to rejoining McKinsey in 2016, I was CEO of Promontory Growth and Innovation, a consultancy focused on profit improvement. I’m passionate about growth strategy and business leadership, writing the New York Times bestselling book “How Excellent Companies Avoid Dumb Things”. A graduate of Harvard Business School and Keele University in England, I started my career as a journalist with BBC Television News. I passionately follow Manchester City, I collect ancient British coins and I love traveling particularly to South Africa.
