Cycles and Change works to improve the health and sustainability of our neighborhoods by increasing the use of bicycles as transportation, connecting youth with the extraordinary living systems of our local area, and building a diverse community of visionary young leaders.The organization began in 2011 in Atlanta and has grown steadily to sites in Tennessee, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and California.Cycles’ programs are as follows:The Smart Cycling Curriculum: Teaches the basics of safe urban riding to small groups of new students and community members, while connecting them with their local environment.The Community Bike Shop: Makes healthy and reliable transportation accessible to all through their earn-a-bike programs, tools and advice for people fixing their bikes, repair classes, and safe riding instruction.Safe Routes to Schools: Educates elementary school students in safe riding techniques, so that they can build the skills and confidence to bike safely to school.After School Bike Clubs: Middle and high school riders earn their own bikes and go on rides to local fun spots.By taking part in Cycles’ programs, youth and adults gain strong and lasting connections to the living world and the larger community. These connections become a foundation for reshaping the relationships between people and land to make our urban neighborhoods healthy and sustainable.

· Implement education programs based upon requirements of the organization · Direct and manage the Education Assistance Program under the close supervision of the related Board Committee. · Act as Educational Coordinator for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) Service Learning component. · Promote member and community interest in Educational Programming. Ensure the implementation of structured group clubs and special interest activities and groups. · Incorporate/establish linkages with schools, community agencies, etc., in an effort to provide services, resources and service alternatives.· Meet with Directors and other staff to solicit input, develop schedules and coordinate programming to ensure smooth running educational enrichment programs for the benefit of all members. Support facility supervision· Work with senior management to support outcome measurements, evaluation of educational progress of members and specialized programming such as college, vocational and career exploration programming. · Maintain complete and accurate records · Manage physical spaces connected with education programming. · Train other staff in Youth Development methods at in-service staff conferences as appropriate to your area of expertise when necessary. · Keep any required permits, licenses and/or certifications current. · Frequent, subscribe to and affiliate with professional groups relative to your general objectives.· Perform other tasks as requested that support the overall functioning of the organization. · Attend staff meetings.· Work according to schedule set, keeping in mind schedule changes resulting from holidays, school closings and weekend and summer hours. Perform opening and closing functions when necessary.
