Strong team communication skills: as refs work in teams of 3, we need to communicate well with one another to officiate and control the game effectively, as well as maintain safety2. Good time management: I am required to arrive an hour before a match starts and must ensure that each game starts on time, with my game schedule being far distances apart; 3. Impactful communication with others: it is vital to be able to talk to the players, coaches and spectators in an appropriate manner (and sometimes with a sense of humour); 4. Quick, fair decision making skills based on the rules of the game and what I see; and staying calm under pressure.

Engineering Intern, reporting to the business owner Feb 2016, Feb/June 2015, Feb / June 2014I designed and manufactured custom parts using a lathe and CNC milling machine. The parts also had to be cleaned and measured to make sure they were within tolerance. I learnt basic SolidWorks programming commands for the lathe and CNC milling machine, and taught myself TIG welding. Projects included prototype and small batch production parts. The materials used to make parts consisted of metals, such as steel and aluminium, and plastics.I built a custom storage materials rack. The design was made in SolidWorks, then cut using the CNC milling machine. The parts were then welded together using TIG welding.
