Ensuring that the Volunteer Programme engaged a diverse, inclusive and committed group of high calibre volunteers which delivered a highly positive and memorable Pre Games and Games time experience for all but also reflected the overall cultural vision and values of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.In addition led on the establishment of a Pre Games Volunteer Programme by recruiting a diverse, inclusive and committed group of over 600 volunteers to assist with a wide range of Glasgow 2014 activities across a number of Functional Areas in the lead up to the Games. Held overall strategic responsibility for the Lead 2014 programme which harnessed the enthusiasm and potential of young people to create the next generation of sports leaders and raise the profile of the Games nationally.Developed and established the Glasgow 2014 Safeguarding Policy and subsequent Games Time Training which was recognised by Unicef as good practice for an international multi sport event.The Glasgow 2014 Volunteer Programme was the largest recruitment of volunteers in Scotland in peacetime with over 50,000 applications a Commonwealth Games record.
