West Kingston Power Station Project

Reviewed all technical documents and implementation schedules for the design and construction of the West Kingston Power Station. Performed technical engineering functions, from contract negotiation, through contract execution and contract close-out for all civil, electrical and mechanical engineering works. Contributed as part of the negotiating team for the fuel supply and power purchase agreements. Managed Identification and rectification of post commissioning project defects.

Responsible for expanding the local area network at the facility based on Novell Netware 3.12 from 20 to 300 PCs using 10Base2 and 10Base5 technology. Provided interconnection between the companies IBM AS/400 and Digital VAX/VMS systems and the LAN giving PC based terminal emulation and network printer support for both systems. Maintained the LAN the interconnection to the facility Honeywell TDC 3000 distributed control system through a Digital VAX/VMS system. Designed and implemented remote offices interconnections using Cisco routers, spread spectrum radios and leased lines. Carried out general end-user PC support, server, network device and cable network maintenance. Installed an FDDI fibre loop for critical data centres. Installed and configured dial-up access for remote clients.
